Positions
Profit/Loss
We display the daily profit/loss (P/L) as both a percentage and monetary value, for daily and all-time timeframes.
The percentage reflects the asset's performance over the selected timeframe (daily or all-time). Any discrepancies between this view and the Stock/ETF details page stem from different data sources. For the positions tab, we pull real-time data directly from our broker, Alpaca, while the Stock/ETF details page uses data from our Morningstar API.
Alpaca data is subject to the following procedures, which may cause brief delays:
Beginning-of-day Sync (BOD) | 02:00AM-03:00AM EST |
End-of-day calculation (EOD) | 11:00PM-12:00AM EST |
During these periods, a null performance figure may be displayed. After the BOD sync completes, the daily timeframe shows the previous day's performance following the EOD calculation, until the next market opens. For longer timeframes, the relevant performance is displayed based on the previous day's close, once the EOD calculation is finished.
Exposure
An evaluation of your current Stocks and ETFs positions, to determine your exposure to individual companies and OPTO themes.
For Theme exposure, the value of your position in a Stock or ETF is attributed to its primary OPTO theme. If a Stock or ETF is associated with multiple themes, only the primary theme is considered.
For Company exposure, it includes any positions in individual stocks and accounts for the top 10 holdings of any ETFs associated with an OPTO theme. The value of these holdings is attributed to the respective company. Holdings outside of the top 10 or from ETFs not included in OPTO themes are not counted towards individual company exposure. Instead, their value is categorized as 'other.'

1-day timeframe
For the 1-day timeframe, when the market is open, price percentage and value change are calculated from the last closing price up to the most recent price. The chart displays changes for the current trading day after the market has opened.
If the financial instrument hasn't been traded on the exchange yet on the current day, the chart will display a message stating, "not enough data to display chart."
When the market is closed, price percentage and value change are calculated from the previous closing price to the last closing price. The chart shows changes from the last market open to the last market close only. If the financial instrument was not traded on the exchange during market hours, the chart will also show a message saying, "not enough data to display chart."
5-day timeframe
For the 5-day timeframe, when the market is open, price percentage and value change are calculated from the closing price of the day that occurred 5 trading days ago up to the most recent price.
If the financial instrument hasn't been traded on the exchange on the current day, the last point on the chart will be the previous closing price.
When the market is closed in the 5-day timeframe, price percentage and value change are calculated from the closing price of the day that occurred 6 trading days ago up to the closing price of the last trading day.
3-month timeframe & longer
For timeframes of 3-month and longer, when the market is open, price percentage and value change are calculated from the closing price of the specified time period to the most recent price. When the market is closed, price percentage and value change are calculated from the closing price of the specified time period up to the closing price of the last trading day.
